Triple Science :p

Okie...after a whole year of hard work, i got what i wanted...triple science :p
So, 5 ppl from our class got triple science, i wonder if anyone of them would be classmates of mine next year. For those who did not get what they wanted..well just work a little harder, n try ur best to enjoy what u r in already, like the way i hated to be in my class, but after some time, i started to like it.

After going to sch to check our my results, went off to pasir laba camp to shoot, u wudn't want to know what i screwed up today...if u rly want to know u can ask the shooting com ppl or staff john...

and lastly...waffles are nice..XD

The Yip way of education?

is merely a dream. Yes, the Yip way of education, is merely a dream. Waking up at 9, start studying at 10, end school ends in 5 hours?

To me, this isn't the way to educate your children. Computer games are not Halo or Counter-Strike, it means educational games like 'The Magic Schoolbus' and 'Freddie Fish' board games doesn't mean Snakes and Ladders or Monopoly, it means Junior Scrabble and maybe Sudoku. Is this what you call leisure, i don't think so.

I dun want my kid to grow up and when asked what games he plays, what are his favourite movies, he answers:' whats a computer game? oh, my favourite movie is the Inconvenient truth.' The education system in Singapore isn't developed overnight, it has been many years already, with the oldest schools being at least 75 years old. The experience of the teachers and the elite of the education has been passed down generation by generation and slowly improved, a student myself, i feel that i have benefited a lot from the education system. Getting your kid to start studying when he is at the age of 2, this reminds me of a very Singaporean phrase, 'dunno how to walk want to fly'. This definitely fits in. The Yip's youngest child can't even use a pair of chopsticks, you are now calling him to differentiate a Rocket and a Space Shuttle?

At the age of 14 and 12, the Yip's eldest son and daughter are sent to Britain to further their studies. Has Dr Yip considered the complexity of the outside world. Does he even worry about he influence out there in the more liberal western countries? Things can happen. Has Dr Yip considered about the well-being of his children in the mental state and not in the academic state? They have been pulled out of school, away from friends and put into a foreign environment.

Has Dr Yip's son and daughter ever done a holiday stint? Probably work at a ice cream store or be a librarian? I dun think so. And he is thinks tat sending his children as an intern to a doctor is more meaningful? Not that i dun think this is not meaningful, however not everyone grows up being able to be a doctor, i feel that Dr Yip is isolating his children in the world of elitists.
When other children grow up, they look for work in the classifieds, slowly making their way up the ladder, with probably no human relations skills, how are Dr Yip's children going to survive? They have always been educated at home, then sent overseas for studies, to Dr Yip, i guess the he wants his children to be geniuses and give a headstart, but does he know that our math standard in Singapore is so far beyond other countries? being educated in Singapore, is already a headstart.

Well, if it were me, i would do my best to let my children enjoy their short childhood before education take their youth away. And during the period of education, all the time can be spared, let me spoil them.

What shld i put here....

hello everyone..=D!!!..ok i shudn't be smiling. Well we have lost the orienteering comp...we only got 51 points. Really really got thrashed by other schools. There were schools getting 90+ and we only got 51.

Then today i had PDS test. Totally screwed it up, i barely passed it, so i can forget about PDS AI. My score for PDS will come and haunt me forever...

There can't be bad news forever. Top shooter here..muahaha. just have to work on my grouping. And i m happy i did pretty well for this term, hope i do much better next year.

And finally, Stars came to our sch today. There were Felicia Chin, Patricia Mok, 2 Michelle(s), Vivian Lai and Yvonne Lim.

But they were all wearing a lot a lot of make up n we got to see the behind the scenes work of their filming, they were very drama...really, they were very drama in front of the camera. Then, our modern dance performed for them, then i just left for duty.. So many Prefects stone in the auditorium never do duty.. =S. Well...the artistes are nothing but human...and maybe we should really thank the bus driver that brought the stars to us eh.. =D.

ARCADE!!!

it seems dat exams are over n its time to let myself loose...but i hope i dun spend too much. Today went to the arcade. play initial d. level up until level 6...then erms my tuning to the max liao..haha..i dun feel like blogging..blog another day.

Fail.

Ok, guess what. After my 8 years of education, i just had to fail this english examination. I just failed my poetry and comprehension components. now my only hope is to do well for the composition and summary components. but after looking at how i fared in the poetry and comprehension, i have my doubts. Now let's hope my other subjects did not do as badly as this one and hopefully i will get into a good class, and my life will be smooth from now on...hopefully.

Sungei Buloh Life Science Trip

Today was marking day to a lot of people. However, to people like Benedict, Wei kit and me, it was a...erm..totally new experience.

I pulled myself out of bed early in the morning, ate a breakfast of bread and ham, and dragged myself to school.

In school, we had an introduction of what we were going to do at sungei buloh, after going through the theory, and having a lunch break at yoshinoya, we set off to sungei buloh.

At sungei buloh, after a boardwalk, we finally arrived at THE BRIDGE... we were supposed to collect pails of water from the 'river'...so we cast our ropes and threw the ropes down. My group managed to discover a technique to collect a whole full pail of water...WOWEE....

After testing the water 3 times for its pH level and temperature. after recording, we went fishing with the pails..unfortunately, we did not manage to fish a single fish out of the whole shoal of half beaks.

Den, we made our way back. We went to the cafe, bought ice-creams and look out at the 'river', just outside the cafe. some of us fed the fishes with fishfood. there were LUOHANS dere!!! haha, den the instructor fed 'em leftover french fries that was left on the table by dunnno who...oops..

Finally, we took a long bus trip bask to school, where we did a few experiments with some of the water we collected before coming back home!!

Broken Dreams..

Do u know how much it hurts when u haf been told dat a dream u had just might not come true? Well i do now, n definitely, i am disappointed...but still..i'm glad he told me so...i guess i wun be able to get over it anytime soon....
